498 Currumbin Creek Rd, Currumbin Valley, is home to content creator and lifestyle entrepreneur Ellie Watson and her husband Alex
A hinterland hideaway that evolved under the watchful gaze of almost a million Instagram followers is officially on the market, with influencer Ellie Watson’s plush Currumbin Valley pad set to go to auction.
Ms Watson, a content creator and lifestyle entrepreneur, and her husband Alex, bought the property in 2021, showcasing every detail of the home’s design and construction to a growing audience of admirers.
The stunning single level residence
“We were drawn to the property as it’s still close to the beach and town yet is next to beautiful rainforest and a creek on flat usable land,” Ms Watson said.
“We really wanted to create a minimal aesthetic in a single-level home that feels different to a lot of houses on the Gold Coast.”
The resort-style pool
The Watsons worked with designer Luke Homes to bring their vision to life, resulting in a chic five-bedroom, Mediterranean-inspired home that has come to be known as ‘The Valle Casa’.
Featuring multiple living spaces, a three-car garage, media room, and office, the home boasts two wings connected via a large open plan living, dining and kitchen zone.
It is insprired by Mediterranean architecture
“I love that it’s single level and there are two separate wings,” Ms Watson said.
“When family stay, they can have their own space, and we also have two lounge rooms, so the kids can be in one while the adults have another.”
The statement kitchen
The central living area opens out to a vast entertaining deck overlooking a resort-style swimming pool and the rainforest beyond.
“I just love the back yard,” Ms Watson said.
“There are lots of areas we can use as a family and it’s so great when you have people over.
“From the kitchen, you can see the pool and the al fresco area, so it makes entertaining easy.
“We also have a trampoline and firepit and lots of shady trees down the back where we have a really big tree swing that’s been a huge hit with family and friends.”
The round skylight is a feature
While the property boasts a minimalist feel, it’s relaxed contemporary aesthetic has attracted a whole lot of interest online.
Inside, limewashed ceilings and walls are complemented by materials such as Taj Mahal quartzite, travertine, and micro-cement that is softened by sheer curtains, skylights, and Danish timber cabinetry.
“We received a lot of regular questions on things like ‘what paint colour?’ and ‘what flooring?’ and it’s been nice to share that feedback with people,” Ms Watson said.
“One person even flew our designer to Melbourne to recreate a property like this.”
The property design journey has been such a success and sparked such interest that the Watsons are now set to embark on the process all over again.

The cosy lounge
“People are a bit shocked we’re selling,” Ms Watson said.
“We built it with the intention of it being our dream home, but I loved the creative process, so we’re keen to do it again.”
The Valle Casa is listed with Amir Mian and Christina James of Amir Prestige.
The property is open for private inspection and is set to go to auction on November 18.
Plenty of room to entertain and enjoy the bush views
As for whether an Insta follower could be the property’s potential buyer, Ms Watson said that’s certainly a possibility.
“We’ve definitely had interest from people who follow the page or who have seen the house and driven by,” she said.
“The level of interest has been such a welcome surprise, as this is only our second property purchase and it’s our first design and build.”
