Food blogger Karina Carrel of Cafe Delites
Food blogger Karina Carrel has capped off a sensational comeback with the $3.25m sale of her Gold Coast mansion.
The popular recipe creator recently returned from an extended hiatus from her Cafe Delites platform, revealing a dramatic 55kg weight loss over the past two years.
Known for her blend of everyday meals and indulgent desserts, Carrel marked her professional return with a series of seductive food videos — and the sale of her luxury Mermaid Waters home, which was snapped up ahead of auction.

Marketing agent Hanan Cawley, of Highland Property Gold Coast, said the waterfront house at 24 Lakeview Blvd was purchased by a relocating interstate family, who had arrived from the Gold Coast on the same day they saw the property.
“The home was due to go to auction the following weekend and had already received four or five offers,” Mr Cawley said.
“But this family wanted it bad enough to stop the auction.”
Carrel’s Cafe Delites site has amassed more than 6m followers across all channels over the past 10 years, according to her profile.

Sharing her journey in a deeply personal post, Carrel said she had “lost herself”.
“Many people were asking where I’ve been, what happened, why did I disappear for so long,” she posted alongside before and after photos of her body transformation.
“I lost myself. I forgot what it meant to be a woman, to be me. I quietly disappeared from the world around me, falling out of love with myself.
“Over the last two years I started a new journey and lost 55kg and found her again. She was just waiting to be loved by the right person. Me.”

Carrel’s sleek single-level entertainer in The Lakes estate was set over a 712 sqm lot with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
An open-plan design flowed via bifold doors to an alfresco entertaining terrace overlooking the pool at the water’s edge.
Features included spotted gum flooring beneath soaring ceilings, stylish kitchen with stone island bench and pendant lighting, and a luxurious master bedroom suite.
Where the magic happens
The property was snapped up ahead of auction by a family moving from interstate
Mr Cawley said it was the highest price achieved among recent sales on the street.
Records show Carrel paid $2.875 for the property in 2021.
She retains another mansion in Surfers Paradise, purchased for $9.501m the same year.
Mr Hanan said the Mermaid Waters market had performed strongly over the past quarter, with plenty of buyers registering their interest and waiting for more homes to come to market.
PropTrack data shows house prices in the family-friendly suburb were up 7.4 per cent over the past year to a median of $1,847,500.
