Ellidy Pullin has sold her beachside unit

Model and social media influencer Ellidy Pullin has sold her Gold Coast apartment for $1.2m after transforming the rundown shack into a sought-after holiday rental.

Ms Pullin, a popular author, podcaster and widow of former world champion snowboarder Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin, bought the two-bedroom Palm Beach unit for $900,000 in June 2023, updating its tired interiors with a colourful, coastal-inspired makeover.

4/238 Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach

Sitting amid a mix of mansions and cottages along exclusive Jefferson Lane, the unit was listed on short-term accommodation sites, turning over about $70,000 a year.

The property at 4/238 Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach was marketed by Coastal agent, Ed Cherry.

Mr Cherry said the listing attracted plenty of attention and recorded the most views of any property for sale listed on realestate.com.au when it hit the market.

“When you think of all the luxury properties on the Gold Coast, it’s pretty incredible that a little two-bedroom unit in Palmy was the most-searched listing that month,” he said.

Lock-and-leave investments are in demand

Latest statistics backed the demand, with median prices for two-bedroom units in the popular southern Queensland market up a whopping 41.6 per cent to $1,260,000 since last year.

Mr Cherry said the buyer intended to keep the unit in the short-term rental pool, while other inquiries had been from Brisbane or Melbourne investors looking for a lock-and-leave asset.

The sale comes as Ms Pullin shifts focus to a new project, a duplex development planned for a beachside site close by.

She bought that site off market for $3.15m in May 2024 after selling another southern Gold Coast property for $1.76m two months prior.

Plans lodged with council in August detailed a proposed four-storey building with two luxury four-bedroom units, each including a sunken lounge room and dining area, infinity pool, sauna, ice bath and outdoor shower, along with a rooftop entertaining space.

Mr Cherry said Ms Pullin’s vision had grown with each project, stating she had “nailed” the smaller scale beachside reno at the holiday hotspot of Palm Beach.

The apartment was described in the listing as “carefree, coastal and charming”.

“Footsteps from the beach and one of just four in a complex…it’s infused with a blend of modern and vintage character.

“The kind of cheerful ambience that instantly makes you smile, it’s awash with sunlight and sea breezes.”

Features include an open-plan kitchen, living and dining zone with bifold doors opening onto the deck, while the generous master bedroom has a built-in window seat and modern bathroom.
