The iconic Brady Bunch house has officially become a historic landmark after the Los Angeles City Council decided the property was a cultural monument.
Fans of the classic sitcom have long travelled to the house to take photos of the exterior, which has remained largely unchanged since the show aired from 1969 to 1974.
The Los Angeles City Council has now designated the property a cultural monument, a move that ensures the five-bedroom home cannot be demolished, Realtor reports.
L.A. Conservancy president Adrian Scott Fine said the house helped shape the vision of American family life.
“We’re thrilled to see it now designated as a Historic-Cultural Monument, ensuring the Brady Bunch and their iconic home remain part of Los Angeles’ story,” Mr Fine said.

The decision follows a massive $US5.4 million ($A7.6 million) investment in the property by the HGTV network.
The network purchased the home for $US3.5 million ($A4.9 million) in 2018 after a fierce bidding war with ‘N Sync star Lance Bass.
HGTV then poured $US1.9 million ($A2.6 million) into an extensive renovation to make the interior look exactly like the original TV set.
While the show’s interior scenes were originally filmed on sound stages, the renovation added to the footprint, including a full second story.
The project was documented in the series A Very Brady Renovation, which attracted more than 28 million viewers.

The property features the famous floating staircase, a burnt-orange-and-avocado-green kitchen, the kids’ Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and the backyard with a swing set, teeter-totter, and Tiger’s doghouse.
There’s even a 3D-printed replica of the living room’s horse sculpture.
The home was recently purchased by Tina Trahan and her husband, former HBO chief executive Chris Albrecht.
The couple opened the home to the public in November, with fans paying $US275 ($A388) for tours.
Under the new landmark status, the Cultural Heritage Commission can delay any future attempts to destroy the property for up to one year.
Council member Adin Nazarian said he looked forward to the home being memorialised as a key part of television history.
