With buyers looking for more space without sacrificing convenience and connectivity, a certain part of Sydney is becoming one to watch.
Driven by major infrastructure projects, strong population growth, and relative affordability compared to inner Sydney, Sydney’s South-West is quickly growing into a property hotspot.
Figtree Hill is a masterplanned community in the Macarthur region helping first-home buyers, young families, upgraders, and investors gain a foothold in this growing region.
The community is also opening its doors on Saturday 7th February with a special RSVP-only event where buyers can learn more about what Sydney’s South-West has to offer. Registration is essential via the website.

Built for future connectivity
South-West Sydney is booming with major infrastructure like the Western Sydney International Airport and Western Sydney Aerotropolis set to open in 2026, creating what is planned to be a vibrant new city centre in the region.
Supported by six new Metro stations in the corridor, the NSW State Goverment estimates that the Airport and Aerotropolis will support approximately 200,000 new jobs in the region across a range of industries.
The Federal Government has also committed $1 billion to building a new railway corridor that will link Macarthur to the Aerotropolis, connecting South-West Sydney residents to the airport even more.
Figtree Hill sits on the southern edge of this growing new city, meaning residents will be able to take advantage of the region's bright future while still living in a quiet neighbourhood perfect for families.
Located just off Appin Road in Gilead, the community is only 8km away from Macarthur Square Shopping Centre's shops, cafes, and essentials services.
It is also be close to Campbelltown and Camden, meaning quality schools, medical centres and hospitals are also only a short drive away.
This includes Campbelltown Hospital, which has recently seen the completion of its $632 million Stage 2 redevelopment, expanding key clinical and support services for the growing Macarthur region.
For residents needing to access Sydney city or the South Coast, the Hume Highway, M5, and M7 motorways are also just as easily accessible.
“Commuting is simple with Macarthur and Campbelltown Train Station just 8km away, providing direct access to the CBD in about an hour,” says Craig Cosier, Project Director of Stockland’s Figtree Hill community.
The green heart of the South-West
Nature is central to Figtree Hill’s design. More than one-third of the community is dedicated to green open space, including protected bushland and an extensive network of proposed walking and cycling paths.
All homes are planned to be within approximately 400 metres of a park or green space, encouraging outdoor living and active lifestyles.
“The aim is simple - make everyday outdoor living easy,” says Mr Cosier.
“When parks and paths are close by, staying active and connected becomes part of daily life.”
With 5,000 residents expected upon completion and access to must-have amenities, Figtree Hill is set to be its own close-knit community.
Nature is an integral part of Stockland Figtree Hill's design, with all homes within 400m of a park or green space.
The sustainable, all-electric advantage
Figtree Hill is setting the standard for sustainable living as a purposefully designed, all-electric community.
This means that the entire neighbourhood is built to be powered solely by clean electricity, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping to create a smaller overall carbon footprint.
Residents are also encouraged to use smart home designs and electric appliances.
“Electric appliances are more energy-efficient, making homes cheaper to run now and even more cost-effective as technology advances, delivering long-term savings for residents,” says Mr Cosier.
The all-electric design is just one part of what makes Figtree Hill a more sustainable option, there are also 25,000 trees and plants being planted as part of the development.
Adding more greenery can help lower the area’s overall temperatures, making the neighbourhood more liveable and comfortable in the long term.
Figtree Hill homes will be future-focused, with sustainable building practices encouraged for all new homes.
New blocks, more options
Figtree Hill continues to grow, with homes already completed and more under construction as the community takes shape.
The masterplan includes around 1,700 lots, starting from approximately 250sqm, giving buyers flexibility to choose a size that suits their lifestyle.
Current land prices range from $639,990 to $920,990*, offering options for a variety of budgets.
“We’ve designed Figtree Hill to provide choice,” says Mr Cosier. “Larger blocks are ideal for families who want extra space, while smaller, more affordable lots make home ownership achievable for first-time buyers.”
For buyers interested in learning more about the community, Stockland Figtree Hill’s Open Doors event is on Saturday 7th February.
