Geelong dual premiership captain and AFL bigwig Tom Harley has tackled a Brighton house purchase for about $6m.
The former Cats skipper was announced as the league’s new chief operating officer last year.
Records confirmed Harley and his wife Felicity, a podcaster, journalist and author, became the bayside home’s new owners this month after buying it in 2025.

Listing agent, Marshall White director Ben Vieth, declined to comment, but industry sources indicated the abode fetched a $6m-plus sum.
In 1997, Harley was drafted to Port Adelaide however he was traded to Geelong in the 1998 off-season.
He captained the Cats when they won the 2007 grand final, the club’s first premiership in 44 years.
Harley was also captain when Geelong contested the 2008 flag but lost to Hawthorn.
The 2009 grand final also ended with him leading the Cats to victory against St Kilda.

Across his career, Harley has received several honours including the 2008 AFL Players Association Best Captain Award.
He was inducted into the Geelong Hall of Fame, named as an All-Australian and took home Geelong’s McClelland Trophy for two years running.
As a player, Harley served as an ambassador for the ‘Just Think’ campaign run by Geelong and the Geelong Advertiser newspaper to raise awareness of alcohol-fuelled violence.
Harley resigned from playing after his third grand final with the Cats and began working at AFL House in game development.

In 2014, he became Sydney’s general manager of football and then the Swans’ chief executive.
Last year, the AFL announced Harley would serve as the league’s new chief operating officer, a role he officially started in October.
The Brighton house which Harley and his wife purchased features an outdoor swimming pool and terrace, box bay windows, open fireplaces and a kitchen fitted with Miele appliances.
Automated gates, video security entry, a study and renovated ensuite with terrazzo marble floors are among its other inclusions.
Harley’s main tasks as the AFL’s chief operating officer include overseeing portfolios such as club funding, plus projects like the organisation’s expansion into Tasmania and the Gather Round.
