Brownlow medallist and former Cats premiership centreman Alistair Lord is punting a Geelong property.

The octogenarian, who took out the 1962 Brownlow the same year he won the Carji Greeves Medal at the Cats, has listed the Linton Lane, Highton property.

Mr Lord has taken up residence in the Charles Brownlow Retirement Village, aptly named after the former Geelong Football Club administrator.

Mr Lord averaged 30 disposals a game and finished nine votes ahead of his nearest rival in the Brownlow.

He was a member of the Cats’ 1963 premiership team, playing alongside his identical twin brother Stewart.

Mr Lord played 122 games for Geelong for 79 goals, before retiring from Kardinia Park at age 26 and returned to the family farm at Cobden.

The property, which Mr Lord purchased in the 1990s, overlooks the Barwon Valley with the view across Geelong taking in the light towers surrounding GMHBA Stadium, where he also part in the ceremony officially opening the $91m Brownlow Stand in 2017.

Maxwell Collins Geelong listing agent Duncan Skene said it was home that would clearly suit a family buyer.

“Maybe for people wanting to step up into Highton – families that just want to be in that great area, close to everything.

“The views are probably the best, looking out over Newtown and South Geelong and the lights of GMHBA Stadium.”
