The Sturrock family are bursting at the seams in their Neutral Bay apartment and are keen to sell but freeway construction outside is putting buyers off and they are slashing the price to get it sold.

“The Warringah freeway work is temporary and when it is finished there will be an electric bus lane and you’ll be able to walk over the freeway to the new Victoria Cross Metro,” Finola Sturrock explained.

“We are opposite St Leonards Park, five minutes to the city and there are great schools nearby.

“We just want someone to take the long-term view,” she said.

The price guide of 13/9 Wyagdon St, Neutral Bay has dropped from $1.7m to $1.6m.

The apartment has three bedrooms.

Their three-bedroom apartment at 13/9 Wyagdon St has harbour views, a garage, two bathrooms and a new kitchen.

It came to market in July with a guide of $1.7m which has dropped to $1.6m and still there are no buyers. Now the auction may be pulled.

Agent David Benjafield, of Belle Property Neutral Bay, said the fifth-floor apartment with double glazing, wraparound balcony, great storage and lift access represents seriously good value.

“The freeway upgrade and parking difficulties will subside,” he said.

There are even harbour views.

The kitchen is white and bright.

“This would suit downsizers, a young family or an investor – you could rent it out for $1200 per week,” he said.

Will Sturrock, who runs the retail brand Jo Bananas in Australia, and Finola, an urban designer, bought the unit in 2019 for $1.08m and set about renovating.

At the time they had just one child. Now they have three, aged two, four and six. They are eager to move to a house and give the children more space.

“The block has a very neighbourly community with Whatsapp, common rooftop for get togethers and people watch out for each other,” she said.

“We have couples with no children living here, couples with a baby, families, people working from home.

“It’s lovely and we have been so happy here.”
