Prolific developer David Deague and his wife Kristene have put their European-inspired Toorak mansion on the market with a $30m-$33m range.
Mr Deague is chairman of his family’s property development and investment firm the Deague Group, a company responsible for several high-profile Victorian projects including Box Hill’s $330m mixed-use Whitehorse Towers site and a South Melbourne seven-level building that’s home to Southern Cross Austereo, which operates radio stations Fox FM and Triple M.

The Deague Group is also behind a 350-home estate in Victoria’s High Country named Bright Valley, a 750-lot residential subdivision in Craigieburn and a nearly-500 apartment development in West Melbourne.
In 2017, the company sold its Art Series Hotels in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide to the Mantra Group for $52.5m.
Multiple generations of the Deagues are involved in the family business which can trace its roots back to 1867 when their ancestor, William Hunter Deague, established himself as a builder after immigrating from England to Australia.
The basement doubles as an art gallery, in addition to having room for nine cars, a billiards and rumpus room, wine cellar and storage space.

And in 2022, crypto billionaire Ed Craven purchased a Toorak house from Will for more than $38m.
