A crypto trader who cashed out for a lavish Hinterland retreat has launched a fresh bid to sell the mansion with a topped-up asking price of $5.6 million.

Gold Coast mum-of-one Sydel Sierra bought the Tamborine Mountain property for $4.63m in December 2021 after retiring age 30 to live entirely off cryptocurrency, or digital assets including Bitcoin.

The founder of Digital Wealth Group, the analyst turned $900 into $110,000 in just 90 days in the Crypto bull market of 2017 and reinvested those profits in 26 Bitcoins, becoming known as the ‘Crypto Queen’.

Now a multimillionaire eyeing a beachside pad, Ms Sierra has put her sprawling Curtis Road home back on the market after failing to snare a buyer through a previous campaign in 2023.

“I purchased the property with the profits of my Crypto investments, so it goes to show that you can achieve serious financial freedom from digital assets,” said Ms Sierra, who now coaches other investors.

“Real estate is a great way to bank the proceeds of Crypto gains as the housing market is also generally seeing growth, and of course, you get to live in it while you own it.”

Set on a 4.42ha parcel in the Numala Estate, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home is listed with Susan King and Vikki Phelan, of The Agency.

Features include sweeping views of the Gold Coast skyline, along with a pool, infrared sauna and ice bath plus fire pit and pizza oven for cooler evenings.

Ms Sierra’s prized Aston Martin is parked in the driveway of the contemporary two-storey home, where spacious open-plan living spaces flow via wide slider doors to alfresco zones.

There’s a stylish kitchen with an eight-seater marble island and Smeg appliances, home office, and huge master bedroom with a private balcony, dressing room, and luxurious ensuite.

“[The home] was on the market a couple of years ago, but then I had a baby so we decided to stay in the home for a bit longer while she was a newborn,” Ms Sierra said.

“It’s definitely time to pass it on though, and I think it’d be perfect for another young family.

“It’s perched right on the top of Tamborine Mountain with the most amazing views back to the Gold Coast.”

Ms King said the property had attracted strong interest since its launch.

“It’s an entertainer’s dream, showcasing a brilliant design, state of the art interiors and seamless indoor and outdoor living,” she said.

“The home is split over two levels, offering privacy, peace and wellness with spectacular panoramic views to the coastline and beyond.

“It also has magnificent lush gardens and backs onto the beautiful hinterland — it takes your breath away.”

PropTrack data shows house prices in Tamborine Mountain have levelled over the past year after a period of rapid growth through the pandemic, sitting at $1.05m.
