Seclusion — this is what comedian Rachel Berger loves most about her Tasmanian bush retreat.
But now the time has come for her to move on to her next adventure.
“What I cherish most about this place is its seclusion,” Berger said.
“It offered me something I hadn’t realised I’d been starving for: the chance to sink into nature so fully that the trees and creatures became quiet teachers.”

Berger describes her escape to the country as rejuvenating.
“The life force here isn’t subtle; it hums, rises, and wraps itself around you until you remember what it feels like to be alive,” she said.
“Before I arrived, I’d lost my way in Melbourne. Not just my direction, but almost everything that had once anchored me.
“Out here, moving through the bush, cutting new trails through scrub and stone, something unexpected happened.
“With each path I shaped in the landscape, I began shaping a new one within myself.
“The bush didn’t just give me room to breathe, it offered me a way back.”

Berger said the time was right to sell.
“The trees here have been generous to me, and as I move to Victoria to return to the stage and be closer to ageing family and treasured friends, I’m ready to hand over this guardianship to another who seeks the healing power of nature,” she said.
“I believe we are only ever temporary guardians of such places.
“My chainsaw is currently my primary relationship, sadly, we’re breaking up!

‘Significant’: Hobart property prices hit new peak
Horizon Property sales director, Deniker Gerrity, expects the property to appeal to buyers seeking a genuine lifestyle shift.
She said it would be ideal for those wanting to step away from the pace of city living and reconnect with nature in a meaningful way.
“With its scale and proximity to Launceston, the property offers a rare balance of seclusion and accessibility,” she said.
“We’re expecting interest from a range of buyers, particularly couples or families looking for a peaceful retreat.
“This is a property for someone seeking something truly unique — not just a home, but a personal retreat.”
