‘Cherry on top’: Free supercar offered with Sydney home

As property and petrol prices bite, two Sydney homes currently on the market are offering a two‑in‑one deal, with successful buyers at auction set to receive two sets of keys when they purchase each home.

One seller, with the goal to set a potential first homebuyer up for success, is offering the lucky purchaser of his Quakers Hill home a free, brand-new, electric vehicle with the sale.

Damian Russell is selling a property at 8 Reef Street via Ray White United Group agent Alex Salameh and with it he is offering a brand new MG4 EV Urban Essence 54 in the buyer’s colour of choice, provided the property reaches the reserve price.

“There are so many pressures of life at the moment,” Mr Russell said.

“There’s fuel prices and house prices, and the general cost of living.

“I think of myself all those years ago when I bought my first home and I think if something like this was available it would have been a good opportunity.

“I think the property is of good value in the market already, but this is now a house with a backyard and a brand-new car.”

With a background in retail, Mr Russell said he knows customers are always looking for value.

“There’s only so much renovating you can do to add value, and the home is fully renovated from every light switch to every power point, it’s basically a new house,” he said.

“So I wanted to do something different to add value to the sale of 8 Reef Street.”

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is set to go under the hammer on May 16 and selling agent Alex Salameh said this was the first time he had ever had an auction like this.

“The home has been an investment for the seller for the past 16 years,” Mr Salameh said.

“It’s been completely renovated and Damian really wants to sell it to a first homebuyer or a young family.

“He just wanted to do something different in the market.

“Interest rates are high, house prices are high. A lot of people are choosing between buying a house and buying a car. This way people can get everything in one hit.

“Fuel prices are very high so the sellers thought offering a new EV would give them an advantage.”

Another home at 19 Brian Street, Merrylands is offering up a similar deal, this time in the form of a free Alfa Romeo 4C, worth around $100,00.

The six-bedroom, four-bathroom double-storey residence is listed with the supercar to be gifted to the successful buyer.

The property is set to go under the hammer on May 23 for sale via Ray White Parramatta’s Alexander Sallit.

Mr Sallit said the owners wanted to offer the car as a “cherry on top” for the sale of the home, that will be included for the reserve price that will be set closer to the auction date.
