A Melbourne CBD apartment owned by celebrity chef Shannon Bennett has hit the market with a jaw-dropping $5.7m-$6.1m asking price.
Bennett rose to fame as one of Melbourne’s top chefs running Vue De Monde at the top of the Rialto Towers, and appearing in reality TV shows such as MasterChef.
He’s also been the culinary heart behind other ventures including The Lui Bar, Benny Burger and Cafe Vue.

More recently he has relocated to Byron Bay where he has established dining precinct Belongil.
With extensive travel now part of his life, and a growing share of his time spent in at his new venture in northern NSW, he is selling his former Melbourne sky home — custom designed for a large family.
Bennett has owned the property since it was built, purchasing two apartments off the plan and combining them with a high degree of customisation.
The result is a 250sq m floorplan that’s unlikely to be matched on Spring St in the near future, according to Colliers director Nancy Monitto.
Shannon Bennett has been one of Melbourne’s most celebrated celebrity chefs for years.
The luxury home has a moody atmosphere throughout.
“This is the first time this has been offered on the market, and there’s nothing else like it in terms of its size,” she said.
“And all of the fittings, he has completely transformed what was originally two apartments that were customised to his requirements.”
Ms Monitto said while the term got thrown around a lot, the residence also had a “genuine chef’s kitchen in every way”.
“And if you are a cook, it will inspire you,” she said.
The apartment’s media room comes with its own bar.
Expansive views are on show from many of the home’s rooms and balconies.
The 1106/35 Spring St home also comes with impressive views across Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens towards the MCG.
The three or four-bedroom floorplan includes multiple balconies, a media room with a bar, open-plan living area, three bathrooms a pair of car parks and wine cellaring.
Bennett gave the building, created by Multiplex and Cbus Property, an overhaul worth $1.5m in 2022.
Ms Monitto’s expectation is the home will sell to an owner occupier, most likely a multigenerational family who can make use of its substantive floorplan – including an unusual children’s pod that creates private sleeping spaces for four children in one of the bedrooms.

One of the home’s two balconies takes in a view across the treetops.
“It will be someone that is mesmerised by the space and the view lines and looking for that 250sq m-plus option on the park,” she said.
“And the protected garden outlook is a defining point of difference. It’s a form of luxury that simply can’t be replicated, making this a highly secure, long‑term proposition for buyers who value rarity.”
