A four-bedroom character home has become the most expensive in a tightly-held bayside pocket of Geelong is nearly two years.
The home, with a six-year-old renovation at 15 Drumcondra Ave, Drumcondra, has sold for $2.3m.
The property, which last traded for $901,000 in 2018 before the makeover, was listed with $2.23m to $2.3m price expectations.

Whitford, Newtown agent Dale Whitford said three offers made during the campaign resulted in the bottom end of the price guide being adjusted up before the purchaser was secured.
But he said it was a happy coincidence that drew the Melbourne buyers to the suburb typically not well known to people from outside the region.
“They were on holiday down here and staying at Rippleside, so they opened their eyes to this area, which was a happy coincidence,” Mr Whitford said.
“They saw the value in what they could buy here for that sort of price.
Rich herringbone floors and a vaulted ceiling surrounds the open-plan living, dining and kitchen zone that looks out to an outdoor entertaining area.
“There’s room here over a single level with young comes, so you can keep and eye on them.
“They loved the layout. They loved that it was fully renovated, with nothing to do.
“The pool will be a bonus in time too.”
Drumcondra has just 275 houses over nine suburban blocks, wedged between central Geelong and Rippleside.
Just eight properties were traded on the market last year, with the previous six homes selling for circa $1.56m average price.
A $5.25m sale on The Esplanade set the suburb’s record price in 2023, while a $2.85m sale in Wattletree Rd was the next most expensive property selling in March 2024.
The gourmet kitchen is stacked with high-end appliances.
Mr Whitford said the quite location was a benefit to the buyers.
“It was in the middle of Drumcondra Ave, so there was no traffic noise. It’s a very quiet, tree-lined street.
“And there was a loft area above the garage, which was like a guest area, which they thought would be great for when they had guests or family down.”
Mr Whitford said the owners, with building and interior design experience, proved a “pretty dynamic partnership” to present the property.
A dressing room and ensuite form a retreat with the main bedroom.
The residence combines luxury fittings, premium fixtures and timeless style, which offers a private main bedroom retreat and a fourth bedroom that could be used as a formal lounge or home office.
