And now for some rare good news about the property market … a Vaucluse home has attracted an incredible 47 buyers to its open homes.
In the current market, most homes are attracting far fewer.
Raine and Horne Double Bay’s Richard Faludi says the five-bedroom, three-bedroom home with a double garage and pool on a 656sqm block at 36 Derby St was “bucking the trend”.
He says the fact that it’s winter and the market’s got the post-Budget blues means there’s “not much out there”.
“Where else can you find a house in Vaucluse with five bedrooms with a view?” he said.
“There’s nothing.”

The home has harbour views, including the Bridge, Opera House and city skyline from both levels.
The agents have done the hard yards with the presentation, repainting the interiors and styling the home.
They even redid the gardens.

Faludi is confident the property, which has a price guide of $13m, will do well at its July 28 auction.
Records show the home is in the name of Bei Jiang and Jungua Wang, who paid $5.4m a decade ago.
Five bedders with views are hard to find in Vaucluse at the minute.

And that view is a knockout.
Faludi conceded that more effort is required in the current market. “The days of putting the properties online and just hoping the buyers come through are gone,” he said.
“We have to focus on presentation … we cleaned, painted and styled the house and redid the gardens.”
He said the 47 buyers came through five open homes over a two-week period.
