Feature bathtubs are designed to stand out but one inside an Adelaide home does more than that – it will leave many unable to look away.

Forget claw-foot or freestanding, the transparent green resin bath in the upstairs master suite of the Wattle Park home makes a statement.

Vendor Bianca Teng, who designed and built the home at 26 Caloroga St with her husband Felix Hui, said many people questioned her decision to include it – particularly because of its transparent design that would expose anything and everything in it.

“I saw it in a photo and it looked really stunning,” she said.

“I needed something cool.”

The Wattle Park home at 26 Caloroga St has hit the market.

Its green bath is a standout feature of the home.

It’s part of the upstairs master suite.

The home theatre is also a highlight of the home.

It has a large living area that seamlessly opens into the outdoor living space.

Ms Teng said they also installed a feature Marazzi porcelain stoneware slab wall behind the bath to make it really standout.

She and her husband, who have a background in the building industry, put their hearts into the five-bedroom home.

It was meant to be their forever home but they’ve recently put it on the market so they can pursue another project.

Ms Teng said it was the first time they had designed and built a house, a process they enjoyed because they could make it exactly how they wanted.

Each room in the two-storey house is different, with a standout feature in each.

“I’ve been to a lot of houses and I don’t like that they use the same design throughout the whole house,” Ms Teng said.

“I just don’t like repetition across each room. I think every room should be a unique room.

“We really, really love it.”

Other highlights of the home include a steam shower and a walk-in wardrobe with “make-up station” – both in the upstairs master suite – a home theatre with a mosaic marble floor, several feature walls that look like built-in artworks, and raw brass tapwear that Ms Teng said changes colour as it ages.

The main living area overlooks the pool.

A pool and outdoor kitchen area is the perfect spot to entertain.

Feature walls can be found in the bedrooms.

Each of the bathrooms are different.

The layout is the same but the style is slightly different.

They are in addition to features expected of luxury homes, including a mineral pool with spa, an outdoor kitchen, a butler’s pantry and a mud room.

Williams Real Estate agent Michael Stentiford, who is selling the property with his wife Angela Stentiford, said the 2022-built home was built with quality in mind by vendors with “impeccable taste”.

“We can see the homes that have been built to a price and those that have been built to a quality,” Mr Stentiford said.

“We had 40 groups through on the weekend.

“Usually when people come through open inspections they tell us everything they don’t like about it – the quality was not questioned in any shape or form.”

With premium homes in strong demand, Mr Stentiford expected the property to be popular.

“The whole market is incredibly competitive at the moment, good stock is selling quickly,” he said.

Best offers for the home are being sought until noon on February 17.
