After captivating the nation on The Block 2025, fan favourites Britt and Taz are making headlines again – this time with a significant real estate move that reveals their savvy property strategy post-win.
The couple, who famously called remote Newman, WA, home, have announced an “incredibly hard” decision to farewell the town, setting their sights on a return to Perth, where their property portfolio is already making waves.
The beloved duo, who pocketed a staggering $420,000 above reserve plus an additional $100,000 prize money from their Block victory, revealed on December 21 that a new career opportunity is driving their relocation.

“We’ve been offered an incredible new opportunity within the police, which means it’s time for a new chapter, and we’ll be moving back home to our family house in Yanchep in Perth,” they shared on Instagram, accompanied by professional family photos.
Records show Britt and Taz purchased their Yanchep property back in 2017 for a modest $217,000.

What was once a block of land has since been transformed into a modern four-bedroom, two-bathroom home complete with a pool – a testament to their vision and investment.
Current listings data indicates the property is now being advertised for rent at $900 a week, and comes with a resell value of around $845,000 and $1.03m.
The couple also secured a block of land at Cable Beach in 2024 for $330,000, according to records, further diversifying their real estate holdings.

The couple will be moving back into their Yanchep home.
The stunning four-bedroom home is currently rented for around $900 a week.
Cable Beach is located near Broome and known for its world-famous 22km stretch of white sand and turquoise water.
Reflecting on their time in Newman, the couple expressed deep gratitude.
“When we first moved here, we had no idea what we were in for,” they wrote.
“Newman gave us the simplest, most meaningful moments and the most beautiful friendships. Friends became family, and the memories we’ve made here are ones we’ll cherish forever.” They acknowledged the town’s community had “shaped” their family more than they “ever expected,” making the goodbye particularly poignant.

The couple also purchased a block of land ripe for development at popular Cable Beach, near Broom, in 2024.
While returning to police work, Taz has previously hinted at exploring media opportunities, telling New Idea he hasn’t ruled out “working in the media” alongside his full-time job if the right chance arises.
Block houses still languish on market as experts cast doubt on 2025 sale
While Britt and Taz look to end 2025 on high, industry experts are casting doubt on whether The Block’s House 1 and 2 will secure buyers before the year’s end.
Both properties were passed in at auction on vendor bids of $3.1 million, with Channel 9 holding out for higher offers in private negotiations.
However, nearly two months on, both 5 Cedar Lane (Ben and Emma’s property) and 4 Cedar Lane (Han and Can’s property) are still listed with an indicative asking price of $3.1 million, a figure proving challenging to achieve in the current market.
Ben and Emma, whose mid-century-meets-country design at 5 Cedar Lane earned praise for its “beautiful adult retreat” wine cellar and native landscaping, expressed their disappointment following the auction.
The Block contestants Emma and Ben are still waiting to sell their private and TV-show home.
“It was extremely disappointing to have our home not sell on auction day,” they admitted.
“It definitely wasn’t the fairytale ending we had dreamt of.”
The couple’s financial pressures are further underscored by their decision to list their own “dream home” in Mornington, a four-bedroom, two-bathroom Hamptons-inspired residence, for $1.75 million to $1.925 million.
The high reserve prices set by Channel 9 at $2.99 million for all five homes were a point of contention among contestants and market observers alike.
While three properties did sell under the hammer – including Britt and Taz’s winning home, the overall prize pool of $749,999 was the smallest since the 2011 season, reflecting the tighter market conditions.
4 Cedar Lane, Daylesford is still looking for a buyer.
For Han and Can’s House 2, located at 4 Cedar Lane, the struggle to meet buyer interest above the $2.99 million mark mirrors the broader challenge of selling high-value properties in a competitive environment.
Bell Property Daylesford selling agent Natalie Fagan – who is facilitating the sale of Fan and Can’s house – said The Block‘s reserve prices on auction day were “overly ambitious”.
“The price is now above what the reserve was so there are challenges within that…but we’re still taking people through and still getting inquiries,” she said.
