The home of hatted restaurant and wedding venue Basils Farm is for sale at 43-53 Nye Rd, Swan Bay.
The home of hatted restaurant and Bellarine Peninsula wedding venue Basils Farm has been listed for sale on the shores of Swan Bay.
The 2.93ha estate with sweeping views to Queenscliff has cemented itself as a foodie destination, with a focus on plate-to-table dining and sustainability.
The business does not form part of the sale, which offers new custodians an opportunity to create their own hospitality legacy or take the property in a new direction.

Elders, Geelong agent Peter Lindeman and conjunctional agent Colliers’ Jonathon Lumsden have set a $2.8m to $3.08m price guide for an expressions of interest campaign closing on December 10.
Mr Lindeman said he had already fielded several inquiries within a day of 43-53 Nye Rd, Swan Bay, hitting the market.
“We are not selling the business as such, but if someone wants to buy it and run a business there and keep the restaurant going and continue to have weddings there they can do that,” he said.
“But the buyer may even be someone who wants to buy the property as a fantastic lifestyle property overlooking Swan Bay and Queenscliff.”
The property has panoramic views across Swan Bay to Queenscliff.
The restaurant is a well-known dining destination.
The property comes with a productive vineyard.
He said this would require converting the existing weatherboard homestead, currently home to a commercial kitchen, bar and dining rooms, into residential accommodation.
Expansive lawns framed by orchards and organic gardens with panoramic views towards Swan Bay are a highlight of the Basils Farm experience.
An outdoor dance floor lit with festoon lights is the centrepiece for weddings.
The property, which previously operated as a cellar door, also retains a productive vineyard.
An extra pavilion was added a few years ago and can seat 100 people under cover.
A commercial kitchen paves the way for new owners to run a hospitality venue.
Mr Lindeman said its proximity and access to Swan Bay and the panoramic views were a huge drawcard.
“Basils Farm is a Bellarine icon where nature, enterprise and elegance meet in perfect harmony,” he said.
“From the award-winning restaurant and wedding venue to its sweeping bay views, it offers not just a property, but a rare opportunity to live, create, and continue a legacy of coastal beauty and purpose.”
