A frustrated Aussie has taken matters into his own hands after getting sick of the unsightly park near his home and mowed it himself.
Well-kept parks and other community amenities are a huge part of maintaining property values in any given suburb.
The anonymous good Samaritan from Rosemeadow in Sydney’s south western suburbs posted on his local Facebook page following his rogue park maintenance.
The local posted before and after pictures of Desdemona Park and chastised his local council for not getting to the long grass sooner.
“It’s a bad look for the Campbelltown Council to not look after their parks and reserves,” the resident posted.

“But don’t worry Campbelltown City Council, we have done your job. You’re welcome.”
The response from other locals was mixed, with some residents defending the council and others joining in to take a jab.
“They do a good job lately. The grass has really shot up quickly after perfect conditions last couple of weeks. But good on you for mowing some grass,” one person commented.
“Here they are saving on fuel by sitting in parks all day doing FA and you go do their job for them,” another said.
“They’ve had a banner on their website saying they are trying, but with the rain and then sun they can’t be expected to keep up,” said a third local.
Frustratingly for the charitable mower, Campbelltown Council staff showed up to the park just a day later to mow it as part of its regular maintenance schedule.
A Campbelltown Council spokesman said sustained heat and rain had caused faster growing conditions than normal.

“Council’s comprehensive mowing program covers more than 1250ha across the Campbelltown LGA. Mowing locations are categorised into priority areas based on public usage,” the spokesman said.
“During the peak summer growing period, priority is given to high traffic areas such as bus stops, schools, road verges, sporting fields, footpaths and playgrounds. Following recent rain, additional mowing shifts were scheduled to target these priority areas.
“Desdemona Park is classified as open space and is scheduled to be mowed every 6 weeks throughout the summer season. Council’s mowing team attended the site on Thursday as part of this regular schedule.
“Council encourages residents to use our new online dashboard to find out when their local park or reserve is next scheduled to be mowed.
