Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins and his interior designer wife Becky Boston have expanded their Bronte property holding.

Their $4.8m purchase is an original semi at the rear of their $16m home, all within walking distance of the Bronte cafe scene and beach.

The strategic pocket-sized 323sq m purchase had last traded for $88,000 four decades ago.

Alexander Phillips and Thomas Fuller from PPD quietly sold the home via a coming-soon noticeboard marketing campaign in January, with details only emerging on its recent settlement.

The two-bedroom, one-bathroom cul-de-sac semi comes with off-street parking for one, plus a long grassed rear yard.

It seems likely Cummins and Boston will incorporate the property into their neighbouring expansive family home renovation.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom main home, which sits on 744sq m holding, dates back to 1888 during the land boom of 1875 to 1889 when Italianate and Gothic homes replaced cottages.

The big home was bought from Keri Spooner, the Waverley councillor who’d paid $990,000 in 1996 with her late husband Brian O’Neill, the former NSW Industrial Relations commissioner.

A review of the property purchases reveals Phillips has bought and sold property for Cummins over recent years, quietly so as not to upset their relationship.

Phillips sold Cummins’ his former Bronte home, the revived Victorian manor Figtree House, for $9.5m in 2021. It was sold off market for $15m in February.

Cummins’ former Beach St, Clovelly, apartment was sold by Phillips for $3.7m in 2021, after Cummins had paid $1,362,500 eight years earlier in 2013, shortly before he turned 20.
