The US celebrity agent who sold Kim Kardashian’s condo and built a TV empire has taught Australian real estate agents his “ready, fire, aim” approach to closing mega-deals.

Josh Altman, known worldwide through Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, hit the stage as the first headline speaker at Australasia’s most influential real estate event, The Australasian Real Estate Conference (AREC), over the weekend.

After explaining his rise to the top, from being broke and living in a fraternity house in Los Angeles, to buying a castle with his brother, Altman detailed his meeting with a woman who would go on to become one of the world’s most famous celebrities.

“Somebody introduced us to a young lady named Kim Kardashian,” Altman said.

“She needed to sell her $800,000 condo.

“We sold it and she introduced us to one her friends, then her sisters and then somebody else.

“The next thing you know her name is popping up in the newspaper.”

Altman also revealed his “ready, fire, aim” motto where “the fire is deliberately before the aim”.

“If you see an opportunity, in front of you, take a shot and if you miss take another shot,” he said.

“Choose to be lucky, put yourself in situations where you’re rubbing shoulders with the type of clientele you want to sell too.”

“The real estate industry is facing challenges like never before, and agents need to sharpen the fundamentals while embracing new growth opportunities.

“AREC is exactly the kind of event that helps our industry step back, reflect, and come away with strategies they can implement immediately.”

“The stories, the leanings, the people you meet can be immeasurable — that’s the real value.”
