Brisbane Lions defender Noah Answerth has sold his investment property in Norman Park.

Brisbane Lions defender Noah Answerth and his fiance Queensland Firebirds netballer Macy Gardner have doubled their money on a Queensland investment property, selling the renovated family home in just four days.

The couple sold the four-bedroom two-bathroom home in Brisbane’s Norman Park for $1.42m — double the $719,000 Answerth paid for the property in 2019.

The premiership winning AFL player bought the home as a 19-year-old, shortly after being drafted to Brisbane from Melbourne.

It was his first property purchase – a significant investment for a teenager embarking on his AFL career.

“I hadn’t even been in Brisbane for 12 months when I bought my first house,” Answerth said.

“I lived in it for six years before it became an investment property which I rented through Ray White.”

He said he could not believe the house was sold so quickly.

“The house is on a 405 sqm block of land and features open-plan living and dining areas and a timber deck,” Answerth said.

He credited much of the property’s appeal to the extensive landscaping work completed by his father and uncle early in his ownership.

“When I first bought it, my dad, who is a landscaper and hedge cutter, helped turn the place around with my uncle,” Answerth said.

“We’ve done a lot of work on the house over the years.”

Ray White Metro North director David Treloar marketed the home at 173 Macrossan Ave.

“While we anticipated strong buyer interest given Norman Park’s popularity and the home’s condition, a sale within four days demonstrates just how competitive the market is for well presented properties in this price range,” Mr Treloar said.

Answerth bought another property just 600m away in 2022, where he currently lives, with plans to potentially rebuild in his favourite Brisbane suburb.

“Norman Park is the most underrated suburb in Brisbane,” Mr Answerth said.

“For me, coming from Melbourne, the lifestyle was the most similar – the streets and parks, the character houses and residential zones that have a real family feel.

“There are heaps of parks around, which is perfect for my two dogs.”

He said the location also proved ideal for his professional commitments.

“It’s so easy getting to the Gabba for training,” he said.

PropTrack data reveals the median house price in Norman Park is $1.675m, up 20.7 per cent over 12 months.
