As she awaits the birth of her first child, actor Isabel Lucas is contemplating making a big property move away from Australia.

Lucas met her partner, American film director Cyrus Sutton, through a mutual friend after she was intrigued by his documentary work.

The couple now live a notoriously private life with Lucas, 40, looking to quit Australia for good.

Lucas set up a home with ex-boyfriend folk-rocker Angus Stone in Byron Bay in 2012 and then later purchased a home in the celebrity capital in 2017 for just under $860,000 after their relationship soured.

The home was set on a sprawling 1089 sqm property among the surrounding treetops.

Just two years before the Byron Bay purchase, Lucas listed a scenic retreat in Topanga, LA for $685,000.

Now it appears her life in the US is here to stay.

In a recent interview with Stellar, Lucas revealed her pregnancy at aged 40 and her desire to settle down in the US for good.

“Having roots and settling down is important,” she told Stellar.

“Plans can always change, but we’re mostly based over there.”

Lucas suggested her life would be one of wellness and off-grid.

“We’re living on the land and setting up a retreat centre by the Columbia River,” she said.

“It will offer a variety of holistic health, beekeeping, homesteading skills, and retreats.”

Lucas rose to fame after appearing on Home and Away, where she played Tasha Andrews from 2003 to 2006. She earned a Logie Award for new popular talent during her tenure on the Australian-hit program.

She then went on to the big smoke, earning a role in films Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Daybreakers.

Lucas then seemed to vanish from local TV and films by 2018, with her latest work including Like Flynn in 2018 and That’s Not Me in 2017.

She is now dedicating much of her time to advocate for Australia’s natural environment and wildlife preservation.
