$4m home on the doorstep of ‘Australia’s most beautiful street’ has views to die for

A rare chance to live on the doorstep of the "most beautiful street in Australia" is up for grabs, but it comes with a small catch.

Positioned off the southern corner of a street that's recently gone viral for its coastal views and rolling farmland - which influencers have crowned Australia's 'most beautiful' and 'prettiest' street - 176 Belinda Street in Gerringong on the NSW south coast also offers vistas of a different kind – a 162-year-old cemetery.

Listed with a price guide of $4 million, sales agent Daniel Watt from South Coast Prestige Properties said the listing has attracted keen buyer interest, with its graveyard views not really an issue.

“It's actually one of my favourite parts of Gerringong – it’s so peaceful and gorgeous,” he said.

“The master bedroom looks out over the boat harbour, across the cemetery… I don't know if more than half a dozen homes in Gerringong have that," he said. “I see it as a really big drawcard.”

Another lure has been the viral Tasman Drive, cornering Belinda Street, which has been inundated with visitors attempting to capture the perfect selfie or video set amongst the stunning sloping views of Werri Beach.

While a few interested buyers have commented on the social media flurry, Mr Watt said it was more the younger crowd.

“Most of the buyers I've spoken to about this one are more mature range, but their kids have mentioned it, a couple of people have mentioned, it hasn't been a big deal,” he said, adding this premium pocket of town always draws strong interest.

“That particular strip of Gerringong, it shares a very, very unique attribute," he said.

“You get both the north-facing views that Tasman Drive gets, but you also get the south-facing views over the boat harbour, which is quite limited to about a dozen homes in Gerringong that run along that cusp that aren’t demarcated by that roll of pine trees.”

Vendors Dennis and Attracta McKeveney have made the decision to sell their home of 10 years amid their plans to downsize.

They had a few blocks in the area to choose from at the time they built, and the cemetery across the road did not bother them.

“After coming from Sydney, the views were so beautiful,” Mr McKeveney said. “My wife always longed for ocean views.”

Set on a 742sqm block, the contemporary home includes a self‑contained studio/poolside cabana, a swimming pool, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, high ceilings, Blackbutt flooring and clerestory windows.

Offers to buy the home close March 1.
