It’s a community 16 years in the making, and it has just one home left.
Development company Urbex has sold 42 out of 43 lots in the final stage of sales for Capestone: a master-planned community in Mango Hill.
Urbex has sold more than 2,000 homes over 22 stages since work on the 300 hectare project began back in 2003.
Now, one lot remains available to purchase, before Capestone’s decade-spanning sale campaign will have ended.
Sitting between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, Capestone features a 12.8 hectare lake, an array of parklands, playgrounds and walking paths, along with its own shopping centre at the centre of the community.
Capestone’s expansion included the development of St Benedict’s College and Mango Hill East rail station within the estate itself.
Urbex General Manager Carl Bruhn said he was proud of his team’s hard work on the development over the years, including helping to build Capestone’s community and assisting in establishing St Benedict’s College.
“Capestone has been a tremendous project for us over the last 16 years,” he said. “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see these homesites transformed into beautiful homes by Australians and has been a proud achievement for our team.”
Lots were available to purchase both near and bordering the nearby lake, from 373 sqm to 682 sqm in size.
Prices on the lots have ranged from $595,000 to $815,000, depending on the location and size of the lot.
The development is expected to house around 4,892 residents at the time of its completion.
Urbex’s work on Capestone won them two awards at the 2024 UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence: the ‘Master-planned Community’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ awards.
Mr Bruhn added the company would now be focusing on new ways to tackle the housing affordability crisis with its new products.
“In addition, Urbex is targeting acquisitions to replenish its forward supply across Southeast Queensland and Victoria, with opportunities to expand in South Australia,” he said.
