Middleton’s historic 1850-built flour mill has been given a new lease on life and is ready for you to continue the legacy its visionary owners created for the iconic property, or take it in a bold new direction.

Winemaker Rose Kentish and her viticulturist and painter husband Sam Harrison bought the property in 2006, and embarked on a bold project to restore the historic mill, create a grand family home and transform the site to include a luxury accommodation offering.

“We wanted to set up a tasting room, a cellar door for my wines … and also a place for us to live and work and paint and do other things,” Rose says.

“We had weddings there, so we have a restaurant license, and it’s become this really lovely morphing of family and a place that people felt very welcome.”

The property’s listing says it could be used as boutique luxury accommodation, a wellness retreat, a restaurant, a wine tasting venue or event destination (STCC), a grand private residence or multi-generational estate, and the main mill offers some 1000sqm of living space across its four levels.

“We’ve made something very special and now it’s time for a new chapter and the next custodians, so for us it’s letting goof something we love.”
