Literary agent Margaret Gee will be hoping for a happy ending as she calls time on her much loved Hamptons-style home in Dromana.
The well-known figure in nonfiction publishing circles is selling the four-bedroom beachside sanctuary with $4.6m to $4.8m price hopes.
Ms Gee has represented authors including award-winning novelist Stephen Downes, Helen Reddy, celebrity vet Dr Harry Cooper, AI scientist Toby Walsh, Derryn Hinch and Dr Kerryn Phelps.

She’s also commissioned a biography of surfing legend Layne Beachley and, most recently, a memoir of Professor Sean Turnell, who was imprisoned in Myanmar for almost two years.
After decades living in Sydney and chasing adventures in far-flung corners of the globe, families ties and happy childhood holiday memories drew Ms Gee permanently back to the Mornington Peninsula in 2022.
But travelling back and forth to Sydney for work has worn thin, prompting her to list 8 Hearn St through Kay & Burton, Flinders agent Meg Pell.
The Hamptons style house is named ‘Himalaya’, a reference to the seller’s strong connection to that part of the world.
The bay is never far from view.
The open-plan living area is the go-to for entertaining.
Designed by Rod Hannah to capitalise on expansive bay views, the contemporary beach house is just a 10-minute walk from Dromana’s foreshore.
A climate-controlled wine and tasting room, provision for a lift, oak floors and bespoke joinery are among the home’s high-end inclusions.
Ms Gee, a keen cook, will particularly miss the showpiece kitchen, fitted with Wolf and Miele appliances.

“It’s like a restaurant kitchen and then while you are cooking you are looking out to sea,” she said.
“And the outdoor area has these overhead heaters so we were sitting out there in winter and having cocktails on the balcony.
“They have thought of everything.”
Unobstructed water views take centre stage in the main open-plan living zone that flows out through French doors to the outdoor entertainment area with an integrated barbecue.
The downstairs living room also shares a slice of the view.
The home has a wine cellar/tasting room.
Downstairs, guests can take advantage of the semi-independent set up that includes a second lounge, kitchenette, two bathrooms and a lavish bathroom.
A visiting family from Bhutan, where Ms Gee regularly travels, is among those to have stayed there.
“Candidly, the house is too big for us, we’re an older couple,” she said.
“It’s fabulous upstairs – it’s like living in a luxury waterfront sanctuary and it’s amazing watching the ships go past – but we weren’t really utilising downstairs very much so it’s with mixed feelings we have decided to put it on the market.”
