Few homes have fetched the price that this modern marvel was sold for.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom beachfront residence at No.34 Balook St, Lauderdale, was secured for $2.32m.
Fewer than two dozen greater Hobart homes have sold for that price or more this year.
And it was the second-highest price for Lauderdale house, behind only the $3m acreage at No.257 South Arm Rd, which sold in 2021.
The property was brought to market by The Agency Hobart property partners Andrew Wells and Shenna Rawlings.

Mr Wells said the level of inquiry was huge.
“The week that it launched it was one of the most-viewed properties in Australia,” he said.
“We had massive engagement with the social media campaign.
“There was interest from people from all over the country, and internationally, too. That’s international buyers and expats living overseas but considering a return to Australia.
“The home appealed to a range of buyers seeking a waterfront lifestyle. Some were looking for a place to live, others looked at the property as an investment opportunity.
“It was under offer pretty early in the campaign.
“The buyers are from Queensland, but now call Lauderdale home.”

Mr Lyden told the Mercury that the lounge room feels like an “inside” deck”.
“You can slide back the doors, and it seems like you could almost throw a fishing line into the water,” he said.
“The ceiling was built so that it slopes upward, and it flares out, which means you can take in the whole view.”
