The founder of a viral blog that is followed by some of the world’s biggest acting, sporting and music stars is selling his Sunshine Coast “forever home” to move to New York.

Pete Moore, who grew House of Heat from an Instagram mood board into a global “voice” for the latest sneaker releases and footware trends, and his paramedic wife Tamika, have listed their Peregian Beach trophy home after an offer “to good to refuse” was made to grow the business.

“We have an investment there from a big company that wants to see us grow more,” he said, adding that while he could not say much, it was a well-known firm.

“This was meant to be our forever home but we could not say no to this opportunity.”

Mr Moore said House of Heat was “a bit like a news outlet with a focus on sneakers and footware”.

He said followers included the likes of actor and comedian Kevin Hart, former pro basketballer Carmelo Anthony and rapper Nelly.

It has a monthly global readership of over five million subscribers and over 2.5 million followers on social media, showcasing brands such as Air Jordan, Nike, Adidas, Crocs, Asics and more.

“I have a double degree in advertising and marketing and moved to Miami before the whole sneaker culture blew up in Australia,” he said.

“I am a size 13 and because there wasn’t much in my size in Australia as a kid, I had to get a lot from the States so I often had the really cool ones that hadn’t even been released here.

“It started as an Instagram mood board in about 2015 and then I finished uni and worked at a media agency, had a webiste built and started blogging and now it is a full-time thing.

“It then went crazy and the past few years, well, they have been something else altogether.”

And while boots may be made for walking, it would seem sneakers are meant for a sprint to the bright lights of the Big Apple, with the family, including their two children aged 5 and 6, keen to buy a new place to call home in New York.
