A riverfront home on one of the most popular streets on the Gold Coast sold under the hammer for $7.88m — the highest residential sale of the week in the city.

The triple-living property at 127 Monaco St was marketed by Kollosche’s Michael Kollosche and Marco De Vincentiis.

It had been in the same family since the 1960s although the main residence was built in 2010.

Justin Nickerson of Apollo Auctions called the auction which attracted seven registered bidders.

In the end a local buyer was triumphant.

“It’s obviously one of the most prestigious streets on the Gold Coast,” Mr De Vincentiis said.

“It’s on the river in Broadbeach Waters and there’s only so many properties available.

“It’s very appealing for buyers to try and get that position.”
