24 Riverview Tce, Belmont, sold for $1.035m at auction.

The family appeal of one of Belmont’s best residential streets was underlined as a three-bedroom house in the riverside pocket was snapped up at auction.

Two bidders threw their hands in the air for the brick veneer house at 24 Riverview Terrace, before the property sold for $1.035m.

The sale price was $5000 shy of the top of the quoted range for the 521sq m property near the Barwon River and High St shops.

Gartland Geelong agent Michael Tricarico said there were other potential buyers in the mix during the campaign that didn’t participate in the auction.

“It goes without saying, Riverview Terrace is Belmont’s best streets, close to the river, close to High St.

“We had a lot of interest from first-home buyers and young families wanting to be in that neighbourhood.

“It had a decent yard as well and then we get off-street parking with the rear on Seaview Parade.”

The leafy garden setting was an obvious drawcard in the tightly held Belmont pocket.

The Barwon River, High St shops, sporting facilities and the MacIntyre footbridge to Pakington St’s trendy river end cafe strip are all just a short stroll from gate property.

The main bedroom has its own entry to a patio and a north-facing backyard.

The house is also in the zone for Belmont Primary School and Belmont High, Mr Tricarico said.

There were many good reasons to enjoy the updated home, starting with its peaceful main bedroom overlooking the back garden.

The private retreat has sliding doors on a deck, high raked ceilings, an ensuite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and airconditioning.

The front of the house has an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area with polished timber floorboards, a gas log fireplace and direct access to two additional outdoor areas set against a backdrop of greenery.

Quality appliances, including two integrated dishwasher drawers, Siemens wall oven and steam ovens and an induction cooktop, cater to keen cooks in the kitchen, which has stone benchtops and a butler’s pantry.
