The late television presenter Brian Henderson was best known for fronting 9News for 46 years.
The Middle Cove home beloved by late newsreader legend Brian Henderson, set among trees and with valley views, has onsold for around $12.5m.
The much-loved newsman “Hendo” and his wife Mardi commissioned architect Mike Macauley to create their dream home in 1994 after they bought a 1797sqm block in The Quarterdeck for $850,000.
The couple lived there for 27 years, until Brian died in 2021.

They’ve now just sold it for about $12.5m.
“Hendo” presented Channel Nine news for 46 years, from the early months of the station to his retirement in 2002.
The five-bedroom home then sold for $11.5m in 2021 to Microsoft Australia and New Zealand president, Jane Livesey, and her husband, former PwC consulting partner Neil Livesey.
They refurbished the property and the Middle Cove home came to market earlier this year with a guide of $14.5m to $15.95m through Atlas Lower North Shore.
They’d refurbished the property after buying it, and then put it on the market earlier in the year with a $14.5m-$15.95m guide.
There were four offers after the guide was adjusted to $12.5m recently.
Last week the sold sticker went up on the modern mansion.
Michael Coombs of Atlas couldn’t comment on the price but industry sources suggest it sold for around its more recent guide of $12.5m.
“We had three or four offers in the end,” he said.
“Buyers loved the level block, the usable land, the grand spacious rooms and the cool design,” he added.
