The Block 2025: Meet the contestants for The Block Daylesford

22 hours ago 2

The Block is just over a week away from returning to our screens, so it’s time to meet this year’s contestants.

This year, the Blockheads packed their bags and headed to the popular Victorian regional town of Daylesford for three months of building – not renovating – as the show tackles its first new home builds.

The drama has been high the in the past few years, and while there are rumours that casting has aimed for a more “mature-minded” mix, we’re sure that there will still be plenty of entertainment from these contestants.

The contestants made their debut to locals at the town's annual ChillOut Festival parade, where they rode on floats they created for a challenge on the show.

Sonny and Alicia, Yellow Team from Gold Coast, QLD

Queensland parents Sonny and Alicia are ecstatic to be heading to The Block. They’ve applied for the show in the past, just missing out last year.

Between being together for 14 years, raising three kids and building their current home, these two have been through a lot, so we’re sure they can handle the pressure of The Block.

Sonny is 44 and a plumber. Alicia is 42 and a dental practice manager.

Robby and Mat, Green Team from Adelaide, SA

We can already tell that best mates Robby and Mat are going to bring plenty of laughs this season. The pair have been friends for 15 years, with Robby begging Mat to go on The Block with him for at least 10 of those, finally convincing him while they were in Bali for Mat’s birthday.

Robby is 37 and is a barber and business owner with four salons and a café.

Mat is 41 and is a hairdresser and stylist who also owns his own business.

While Robby might be prepared for life on The Block, Mat will be in for a shock, having never watched a single episode before.

These two probably have the least renovating experience out of all the teams, making them this year’s reno rookies, however having both built their own businesses from the ground up, they won’t be strangers to hard work.

Han and Can, Orange Team from Perth, WA

Han (Hannah) and Can (Candice) met just over a year ago but almost immediately decided that they wanted to apply for The Block.

They’ve wasted no time practising either – the couple are currently midway through renovating their Californian bungalow in Perth.

Han is 29 and a geologist and mining professional. She’s no stranger to getting on the tools, having helped her dad renovate houses.

Can is 31 and a marketing and social media analyst, with an eye for fashion, arts and events.

Britt and Taz, Red Team from Newman, WA

Britt and Taz are the second couple this year from Western Australia and also The Block’s second police team (following twins Alisa and Lysandra ).

The 30-year-old parents live in Newman, 12 hours’ drive north of Perth, where they are used to long hot days – very different to the cold Daylesford winter they are set to endure.

Taz, whose full name is Taran, is an Aboriginal man from the Daharawal People and wants to inspire Indigenous kids around Australia.

Britt previously worked in car sales and is also a photographer and a huge fan of The Block.

Emma and Ben, Blue Team from Mornington, Victoria

These high school sweethearts have been together for 14 years and have applied to be on The Block seven times – and have been renovating houses for almost as long.

They bought their first house at 24 and have renovated two homes and built another.

Emma is 33 and a dance teacher as well as one of Australia’s best competitive pole dancers.

Ben is 32 and an engineer who has postponed a career change to become a firefighter so he can appear on The Block.
