There’s trouble brewing on The Block, and Britt and Taz are at the centre of it.
The resentment started when the other teams toured Britt and Taz’s laundry and kitchen area, the recipient of a perfect 10 from judge Shaynna Blaze which secured them the win by just half a point over cash-strapped Han and Can.
While Britt and Taz visit the other teams’ rooms they find plenty of fault.
They call their frenemies Sonny and Alicia’s layout “weird” and are the only team unimpressed by Han and Can’s incredible garage, claiming the decision to run cabinetry on the back wall makes it too small.
But meanwhile, the rest of the teams are spotting slipshod painting and uncaulked panelling in Britt and Taz’s apparently perfect spaces.
The verdict is unanimous. The girls were robbed.
While even ever-tactful Emma declares it “bad painting”, saying “This is worth a 10 compared to Britt and Taz’s. I reckon the girls were robbed” Han is more brutal.
“That is a complete joke. A f**king joke” she says.
“They were robbed because Shaynna had an emotional reaction in a room that wasn’t finished,” Alicia says.

Han and Can notice the crappy painting in Britt and Taz’s winning laundry/pantry space.
Then comes some seriously immature mean girl behaviour from Sonny and Alicia.
As they walk past Britt and Taz they shout loudly to Han and Can that their room deserved a 10.
“Theirs was pretty amazing. And it’s finished,” Sonny adds.
Then as the teams get together to look at the real estate listings for their properties Sonny and Alicia loudly commiserate with Han and Can while getting a few more digs in.
“You know what your mistake was, you painted too nice,” Alicia says. “You should have done shit coat and you would have been sweet.”
“Just slapped it on,” Sonny adds.
It’s not Britt and Taz’s fault the judges decided to overlook their crappy painting and it does Sonny and Alicia no credit.
As Britt later says “you can be honest about your opinions but deliver it in the right way. Be kind about it.”
Britt reacts to Alicia’s snide comments.
But what was Britt and Taz’s fault was their decision to work ahead on their deck, having unilaterally decided it was part of landscaping (which teams were permitted to get ahead on) as opposed to alfresco week (which is pretty clearly back deck and shed).
After being dobbed in by Sonny for building their deck subfloor last week they’re told by Dan they have to lose a day and will not be allowed to work on their deck on Monday.
But now the other teams have discovered nobody is allowed to work on their decks on Monday anyway, because a louvered roof system is being erected on them that day, meaning Britt and Taz are at no disadvantage, and will in fact be way ahead when everyone can legally get started on their decks.
When Britt and Taz head off for their night away from The Block, part of the prize for coming first last week, the other teams head out to dinner and all agree a body corporate meeting is in order.
“We want it to be a level playing field,” Robby says.
“They’re cops. You break the rules, you get penalised,” Han says.
Ben suggets a bit of light arson at the chumps’ dinner.
The usually conciliatory Can goes hard, suggesting a range of punishments including not letting them be in the running for a win this week, a substantial fine, or even being ordered to rip the deck up, reminding everyone how often they have had to rip up tiling that didn’t pass inspection.
Alicia is impressed as how fired up Can was.
“It was actually quite nice. Wasn’t me for once,” she says.
Mat is at pains to point out the calling of a body corporate was not a personal attack on Britt and Taz.
“It’s not b***hing about them as people, it’s not b***hing that we don’t like them. It’s having a solid conversation that we think it’s unfair that they worked ahead,” he says.
But it looks like his efforts to keep things civil will be in vain as Ben pipes up with “I reckon we burn it”.
“I’ll throw petrol on it and you can light the match,” Han adds.
