10 Poole St, Longueville combines an original anti-bellum style homestead with modern addition
On the shores of the Sydney Harbour, this opulent home underwent a seven-year design and build journey to transform into its current estate that unites the old and new.
Encompassing an original anti-bellum style homestead that has only ever had two owners, including the family who built it in 1938 and lived there for almost 70 years.
The second of the two, its current owners, did the renovation. They decided to keep the building and utilise it as an anchor point for a new and modern addition. The extension connects to the original home via a glass walkway.
The residence, known as ‘Otahki’, is listed for sale via Ken Jacobs and Hui Xu of Forbes Global Properties. The guide is $55m.

With an estimated current value of land of circa $30m and a total land size of 4,389 sqm, the estate is an amalgamation of three blocks.
“The owners purchased the first block in 2005 and over the next 18 months acquired the two adjoining properties,” Mr Jacobs said.
“They then embarked on a seven-year journey to design and build this extraordinary estate.”
According to Mr Jacobs, the owners had looked in the eastern suburbs and lower north shore for a home offering the specific requirements of their young family and lifestyle but were unable to find a suitable home so they decided to create it.
