A four-bedroom Truganina home has sold for $748,500 after a fierce bidding war, with a Sydney investor securing the property sight unseen as demand in Melbourne’s west surges

Sydney investors are outmuscling Melbourne buyers in the city’s booming western suburbs, snapping up homes sight unseen as competition intensifies.

A four-bedroom home at 65 Lucerne Drive, Truganina, sold for $748,500 at auction, with six bidders battling before a Sydney-based investor secured the deal — without even stepping inside.

The auction at 65 Lucerne Drive opened at $690,000, and from there, competition erupted.

Ray White Werribee’s Petar Krnjeta said the demand for properties in Truganina, Tarneit, and Wyndham Vale had skyrocketed, with multiple buyers fighting over limited good quality homes.

“From the moment bidding started, all hell broke loose,” Mr Krnjeta said.

“Buyers were going head-to-head, pushing prices higher with every offer.”

A wide entry hallway with sleek wooden panelling and a built-in feature display sets the tone for this stylish Truganina home, now in the hands of an interstate buyer.

The modern open-plan kitchen boasts stone benchtops, a butler’s pantry, and premium appliances, seamlessly flowing into the dining area — one of the many drawcards that sparked a heated auction.

Mr Krnjeta said interstate interest had surged, with many buyers snapping up properties sight unseen.

“We’re getting so many enqurities from Sydney and even Queensland buyers looking at properties under $850,000,” he said.

“They’re seeing value here that just doesn’t exist in their own markets, and they’re jumping on anything that looks like a solid investment.”

A covered alfresco area overlooks the low-maintenance backyard, offering the perfect space for entertaining — one of the many features that caught investors’ attention.

The sleek main bathroom features a floating vanity, dual sinks, and contemporary black tapware, adding a touch of luxury to this sought-after Truganina home.

The modern family home offered plenty to buyers with a spacious master bedroom featuring a private ensuite and walk-in robe, while the additional three bedrooms had built-in robes.

A designer kitchen with stone benchtops, a large butler’s pantry, and stainless-steel appliances added to its appeal.

Two separate living areas provided flexibility for families, and a low-maintenance backyard and covered alfresco area.

With remote work on the rise, the dedicated home office provides a quiet, well-lit space.

A spacious and functional laundry with ample storage and outdoor access adds to the home’s appeal, catering to the needs of modern families and investors.

A double garage and neatly landscaped front yard rounded out the home.

Mr Krnjeta said bidding wars like this were becoming common, especially in the west, with many buyers missing out multiple times before finally securing a property.

“There’s just not enough stock to meet demand, and that’s pushing prices up at every auction,” he said.

The main living area is bathed in natural light, with floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains and plush carpeting creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Each bedroom offers generous space, built-in robes, and large windows, with the master suite featuring an ensuite and walk-in robe — key selling points in the competitive auction.

“We’ve had properties go well over the reserve because the demand is there and buyers don’t want to wait.”

The Ray White Werribee agent said he urged homeowners considering selling to do it now before more home’s are listed following anticipated further rate cuts later this year.

With supply lagging and demand only increasing he agreed homes like this in Truganina could hit $1m within five years.

“For buyers sitting on the sidelines, waiting isn’t going to make it any easier,” Mr Krnjeta said.
