A 1100sq m block at 47-49 The Corso, Isle of Capri is on the market.

Two homeowners are teaming up to create a super-sized “once-in-a-lifetime” block on one of the most popular streets in Surfers Paradise.

The unlikely pairing of the properties at 47-49 The Corso, Isle of Capri, follows the record breaking $24 million sale of nearby 59 The Corso in 2023.

That sale injected new life into the real estate market on Isle of Capri with many sellers keen to see how it would impact their own property values.

59 The Corso, Isle of Capri sold for $24m in 2023.

Located four blocks south, both vendors of No. 47 and No. 49 hope their 1100sq m double block will appeal to people looking for land in the Glitter Strip.

No. 47 is a renovator offered to the market for the first time in 34 years while No. 49, briefly on the market last year, is a luxury home with “bespoke features” and a “designer pool”.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of the most iconic positions,” said agent Sonia Smith, of Harcourts Broadbeach – Mermaid Waters, who is marketing the property alongside Rob Rollington, of Surfers Paradise First National Real Estate.

“It has the perfect north aspect and an unbeatable waterway on main river in the Adams Basin and is located across the road from parklands.

“It’s world-class buying on the Gold Coast with city skyline views and we expect it to generate international buyers as well as interstate because it’s located a few doors down from the record sale on The Corso.”

Jeff Cooke owns 47 The Corso and has lived on the Isle of Capri for more than 30 years.

“I’m giving someone else the opportunity of owning one of the very best positions on the Gold Coast,” Mr Cooke said.

“I’m not moving away because I still live on this precious strip on The Corso and would not want to be anywhere else.”

The property is listed via expressions of interest with the option to buy each block separately.

PropTrack data shows the median house price in Surfers Paradise is $2.92m, up 5.2 per cent over 12 months.
