A dilapidated Federation homestead has emerged from a six-month labour of love as one of Cashmere’s most impressive private estates.

‘Shyennavale’ at 16 Clematis Court, Cashmere – a dual-living residence on 0.6 hectares bordering a state forest – will go under the hammer at The Calile Hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on Saturday at 9am.

Set on 1.5 acres, the six-bedroom, three-bathroom property was built as a homage to classic character estates.

It comprises two full-size dwellings.

Current owner Caroline Hoole and her husband discovered the Moreton Bay property with the intention to renovate it while preserving its heritage elements.

The couple have worked seven days a week for six months to complete the transformation.

“We bought it to restore it to its former glory for ourselves but circumstances changed with family and it was too big for two of us,” Mrs Hoole said.

“It was a mess, it was run down. It was going to be a challenge.

“We loved the size and the character from the beginning.

“The end result has been worth every moment.”

Mrs Hoole said there is also a seasonal creek at the back of the property.

“All the trees, the quiet – it’s a beautiful spot immersed in nature,” she said.

The renovation has been nothing short of extraordinary.

The couple undertook a full interior and exterior repaint, reconfigured walls, installed a brand-new kitchen, and created a luxurious master suite complete with a walk-in robe and ensuite.

Refurbished Australian hardwood timber floors flow throughout, complemented by new carpet, and all fixtures and fittings have been replaced.

“There wasn’t an inch of the property that we didn’t have to repair,” Mrs Hoole said.

“We’re perfectionists.

“We found a door that went nowhere during the renovation which revealed a massive area which can be utilised as another entertainment area or even accommodate a huge pool.”

Mrs Hoole said the property’s name carries special significance – ‘Shyennavale’ was named by the gentleman who originally built the home as his forever residence, naming it after his daughter.

Other features include extensive landscaping, dual driveways, two fireplaces, a firepit, fountain, chicken coop, an irrigation system, and Hikvision cameras and a security system.

Now that the renovation is complete, the couple are looking forward to passing the property onto new owners who will love the house as much as they do.
