Scarlett Johansson and husband Colin Jost have snapped up a sprawling New York penthouse for a bargain price.
The couple snagged the six-bedroom Carnegie Hill home for US$13m (A$20.6m) this month, the Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the New York Post, the residence sold for the same amount in 2006 to its previous owners, Craig and Deborah Cogut.
The pair had been trying to sell the home on and off since 2018, when it initially listed for US$27.5m.

Located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the apartment boasts five terraces and eight balconies, according to the listing.
The luxe interiors include six wood fireplaces, parquet floors and an oak-panelled library.
The wing that hosts the kitchen, which features floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and two 132-bottle wine refrigerators, also houses a separate room for staff.
The primary bedroom, meanwhile, takes up the entire third floor.

Johansson is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, with roles in franchises such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe and “Jurassic Park”.
The “Black Widow” star is reportedly worth over US$165m (A$261m), taking home between US$10-20m (A$15m– A$31m) per film.
According to Page Six, the megastar actress’ husband has a reported net worth of around US$10m (A$15m).
Johansson met Jost in 2006 when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first time. However, it took them over a decade for the pair’s relationship to turn romantic.
The two began dating shortly after the actress’ marriage to Romain Dauriac ended in March 2017.
The couple married in 2020. They welcomed their son, Cosmo, in August 2021.
Johansson also has a 10-year-old daughter Rose, whom she shares with Dauriac.

The couple were reportedly shopping for a larger home as far back as 2022, when they were spotted eyeing a US$23m (A$36m) penthouse in the Upper East Side, which ultimately sold for US$19.5m (A$30.9m).
The two both sold their respective New York bachelor pads that same year.
Johansson let go of her Sutton Place penthouse in the spring of 2022 at a US$223,000 (A$353,000) loss, and Jost unloaded his West Village duplex for US$2.32m (A$3.6m) not long after.
The family’s new Carnegie Hill home is less than 30 minutes from Jost’s workplace at 30 Rock, where he is going on his 20th year at “SNL.”
While Jost’s work on the show’s milestone 50th season wraps up in April, Johansson is headed into promotion for the July release of “Jurassic World Rebirth.”
