THE mix of contemporary living, a beautiful family home and a peaceful acreage setting — somehow just minutes from the CBD — proved irresistible to all who inspected this Relbia property.

Buyers even flew to Tassie just to see the home for themselves in person.

Following a strong campaign by Insitu Property and Bushby Creese, No.28 Riverstone Dr has been sold for a price that set a record for its suburb.

Bushby Creese director George Bushby said while the price is currently undisclosed, it is the “new suburb record for Relbia”.

Insitu director Kristi Seymour said the 2.9ha Riverstone Dr property was “hotly contested” by local and interstate purchasers through its five-week campaign.

“Three offers were received on the property, with the successful purchaser being a local,” she said.

While the successful buyer hails from Tassie, Mr Bushby said the home appealed to people far and wide.

“We had strong interest from Queensland and Sydney, with potential buyers flying in to inspect,” he said.

“In total, 65 groups inspected the property.

“The purchaser bought the property for a lifestyle change from living in town — this property offered more space for his family.”

Mr Bushby said part of what made this property so appealing was its architecture.

“The property was extremely popular, being an architectural modern build on acreage and turnkey ready,” he said.

No.28’s flawless exterior sets the tone with a white pebble circular driveway leading to the striking dark facade with feature spotted gum timber.

A glass entrance foyer with timber floors unveils a compelling interior comprising four distinct wings that were carefully considered to capture all day sun and captivating views.

Relbia is a semirural town, about 12km southeast of Launceston with a history of strong property prices, especially its lifestyle properties.

Per realestate.com.au, Relbia has recorded 10 sales in excess of $2m since mid-2022.

Ms Seymour said there is always demand for small acreages, within 10-15 minutes of the CBD, “particularly for higher-end, energy-efficient housing”.

“They enable people to have space and privacy, while cutting down on travel times for busy families,” she said.

Despite the overall market’s ups and downs, Mr Bushby said acreages remain appealing.

“Quality lifestyle properties are still performing very well, and especially so in Relbia,” he said.
