A jaw-dropping luxury estate used to accommodate actors shooting at nearby film studios has finally sold in a record $8m deal.
The sprawling Gold Coast property know as Hillhaven Estate had been on and off the market since being transformed into a private retreat fit for film stars.

The sellers, Ben Windle and his wife, Cindi spent close to $3m on the rebuild after purchasing the Upper Coomera property as a deceased estate for $1.2m in 2016.
Windle was a church pastor for 20 years and also hosted a radio show.
Publicly available records reveal the estate first hit the market with a $6.5m asking price tag in 2020, before being dropped to $6.4m and $5.98m in 2021.

The house is built on a 7.8ha site.
Gladiator still from movie, Russell Crowe, who has stayed at Hillhaven Estate.
The property was then listed again in 2022 for $7.5m, and at $12m last year.
Set on a massive 7.8ha at 36 Jenkins Court, the property features a basketball court, infinity pool and spa, tennis court, firepit, commercial-grade gym and yoga garden, along with a recently upgraded professional recording studio.

Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty agents Lana Faulkner and Kurt McMahon took on the property earlier this year and, after a short auction campaign, sold it under the hammer, achieving a suburb record price.
“For us, the uniqueness of this estate is exactly what places it among those rare, unlisted properties, and that’s what makes them uncapped,” Ms Faulkner said.
“We don’t place caps on what they can achieve, and that belief sits behind everything we do, from the marketing to the negotiation.”
The house has panoramic views of the Gold Coast.

Ms Faulkner declined to comment on the buyer or seller.
“Being trusted to manage the confidentiality of both families is something I’m genuinely proud of and it speaks to the traction we’re building across the Hinterland.
“It was an impressive, inspirational campaign that connects buyers through our network at Sotheby’s, nationally and internationally.
“While the buyer was a local Gold Coast family, their national and international connections run deep, and that fed directly into the value proposition for everyone involved.”

Anchored by a contemporary five-bedroom, four-bathroom home, the estate commands breathtaking 360-degree views stretching from Brisbane to northern New South Wales, and showcasing the glittering lights of the Gold Coast skyline.
The estate has doubled as a home away from home for visiting actors shooting film productions in the region — it’s understood Aussie screen veteran and Gladiator star Russell Crowe was among actors who had stayed at the property.

Ms Faulkner said the sale of Hillhaven Estate would put the Gold Coast’s northern luxury acreage market on the map.
“The northern Hinterland and luxury market hasn’t seen the residential results the southern end is known for, so in many ways we had our backs against the wall,” she said.
“But we believed completely in what this property offered.
“You’re moments from Brisbane while living the Gold Coast lifestyle, with accessibility most estates can’t match.
“Our job was to present the true value of the location, the undeniable views, and the rarity of such a prominent estate.
“When a home has something others don’t, you can’t compare it to ordinary real estate.”
PropTrack data shows the median house price in Upper Coomera is $1.1m, up 18 per cent over 12 months.
