Skye Wheatley has split from partner Lachlan Waugh, leaving their Spanish-inspired mansion reno in limbo
Reality TV personality Skye Wheatley has been left with a half-finished house after splitting from her partner, years into a renovation project she has candidly dubbed a “f***ing disaster”.
The former Big Brother contestant shared a video update as contractors continued work on the Gold Coast mansion following her separation from Lachlan Waugh.
The couple, who share two young sons, purchased the dilapidated acreage property for $975,000 in 2019 and have been battling extensive renovations ever since.
“It’s been a f***ing disaster,” she said earlier, revealing the toll the project had become, with no clear end date in sight.
“I feel like everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong.”

Wheatley said the financial strain had been particularly acute, and estimated the project value at $5m — though that figure far exceeded the purchase price and total of two subsequent loans.
“We’ve had to take out a second loan,” she said.
“So the first loan was $800,000, the second loan was $400,000 and we’re still not even going to be completely finished.”
Wheatley, who made her TV debut on Big Brother in 2014, confirmed they remained committed to finishing the build, despite announcing she had split from Waugh after eight years together.

“Needing a builder’s clean,” she shared in her most recent post.

Known as La Casa Grande, the stunning Spanish-inspired home was envisioned with luxurious details, including walnut cabinetry and stone benchtops in the kitchen, dramatic raked ceilings with exposed beams, curved doors and windows, and expansive crazy pave terraces.
Drawing on Mr Waugh’s shop fitting experience, they have carried out much of the refurbishments themselves, transforming interiors with high-end finishes and revamping the resort-worthy pool.
Wheatley confirmed the separation on an episode of the podcast she hosts with Callum Hole – the pair met as fellow contestants on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2024.
