A Mount Barker home has been a wonderful place for vendors Lorrie and Kevin to raise their family, and they are thrilled to now be able to let someone else enjoy the same idyllic lifestyle they have.

The couple bought the home in 2013, attracted by its sense of space and natural setting.

“We weren’t looking in Mount Barker,” Lorrie says.

“We went to another house and the girl there said this was a really beautiful home and we came and saw it and thought it was stunning.

“We just loved the open space and the pool and the lawn.

“The house was beautiful inside and there’s a lot of timber – which we loved – and it just had a really homely feel about it in a country style but not too far from the city.

“It really ticked a lot of boxes for us. When you drive up that big long driveway all your troubles melt away. It’s like our own private resort.”

The home has four bedrooms and a study, a living room, a spacious family/dining room and an open-plan kitchen and meals area with a bay window. It overlooks a swimming pool and spa, and nearby is a tennis court with a pavilion. A separate retreat sits near the pool and has a bedroom, a bar, a bathroom and a sauna.

“We’ve had some amazing parties here, hosted significant birthdays and even held a friend’s son’s wedding here, as well as functions for the Norwood Football Club,” Lorrie says.

“It’s been a wonderful family home and we’d love to see another family love it like we have.”
