A penthouse owned by Aussie TV pioneer Reg Grundy – the man behind hit shows such as Neighbours, Wheel of Fortune and Prisoner – has been listed for sale, six years after his death.

Located in the Brisbane riverfront suburb of Hamilton, the 593sq m penthouse was finally listed for sale on September 6 after a protracted court battle over Grundy’s $900 million fortune.

A remembrance ceremony for Grundy and his late actor wife, Joy Chambers-Grundy, will be held on Sunday.

The September 15 date was chosen by trustees of the estate as it marks a year since Chambers-Grundy, who appeared on Neighbours, The Restless Years and The Young Doctors, died in Germany in 2023. She was 76.

Grundy died in Bermuda in 2016 aged 92.

The TV pioneer and producer put Aussie game shows and drama on the global stage, with hits such as Neighbours, Wheel of Fortune, Blankety Blanks, The Young Doctors, Prisoner and Sons and Daughters.

He was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame in 1993.

Ray White Ascot agents Marianne White and Frances Roberts have been enlisted to sell the penthouse.

“I actually sold it to them off-the-plan in 2003 for a Brisbane record so it is quite sentimental to me,” Ms White said,

“They were just the loveliest people and there is nothing like it in Brisbane.”

Called River Penthouse, it is located in the iconic Infinity building, which was constructed by Multiplex.

It has uninterrupted 180-degree views of the river, city and mountain ranges.

Shared amenities include the foyer reception with a water feature and conference room, infinity edge pool and garden terrace.

“Having previously never reached the property market as built product, Penthouse Infinity is the best kept secret in Brisbane residential circles,” the listing says.

Grundy was known for his golden rule of not dating anyone he worked with, but all that changed when he met Joy, who was late for her audition for his TV show, I’ve Got A Secret.

News Corp previously reported that the couple renewed their vows five times during their 45 years together, with Bishop Stephen Oliver, who presided over each one, flying in from London for the private memorial at The State Library of NSW.

Grundy was previously married to Patricia Lola C Powell.

In 2017, his only child, Kim Grundy, who changed her name to Viola La Valette, took legal action to dispute her father’s will as most of the estate was left to Chambers-Grundy.
