Adrien Brody wins Best Actor at the Academy Awards.
Actor Adrien Brody has walked away with one of the top awards at this year’s Oscars and caused a stir with some surprise antics on the night – but the actor’s home life is almost just as eyebrow raising.
Brody was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Brutalist, the period drama exploring America’s post war architecture.
The star also made headlines for having the longest speech of all time, speaking for five-minutes and forty seconds. He even asked the academy to “cut the music” to give him more time.

Then, there was a drama-filled kiss with Halle Berry on the red carpet, which Berry jovially reported was her way of getting back at Brody for when he controversially kissed the actor as he accepted the same award for The Pianist 22 years earlier.
Brody also spat out his gum and threw it to his partner Georgina Chapman, ex-wife of Harvey Weinstein, just before running on stage to accept the award.
Among the chaos of the evening for Brody, attention has turned to his home life.

ADRIEN BRODY’S PROPERTY PORTFOLIO
In the mid-2000s, the actor purchased and renovated a replica castle in New York State.
The property, known as Stone Barn Castle is a massive estate in Cleveland, New York, that was designed by Charles William Knight and took nearly a decade to build between 1896 and 1906, reports House Beautiful.
Originally a dairy farm that went broke during the Great Depression, Dr Robert Hugel and Alison K Kockel gave the property a new life and it was replicated into a castle in 1969, according to House Beautiful.

The faux castle was reportedly kept open to the public for various events and celebrations.
Brody purchased the property in 2007 for $650,000 and made it private property.
Reports at the time in Hello! magazine say the actor purchased it for then girlfriend Elsa Pataky, now the wife of Chris Hemsworth. He called it a “dream castle,” and the couple featured in a spread in the magazine discussing their relationship and home life.

The “dream” didn’t last long as the couple then split less than a year later and the Spanish model and actor married Hemsworth in 2010.
Reports show the Brutalist actor still owns the property and does stay at the estate from time to time, yet the castle is not his primary residence. Brody owns multiple homes but is secretive regarding their location, unlike his purchase and renovation of Stone Barn Castle, which the actor made very public.
Brody purchased the property for around $1.05m (US$650,000) in 2007, adding to the actors large portfolio.

He teamed up with filmmaker Kevin Ford to document the renovation, which took seven years to complete and named the film “Stone Barn Castle,” and premiered at festival South By South West (SXSW) in 2015.
To help bring the vision to life, Brody tapped renowned interior designer Joy Moyler for the Giorgio Armani interiors group.
