Olympic gold medallist Grant Hackett’s wife, dessert chef Sharlene, has splashed about $8.25m on a Brighton vacant land block.
The 1180sq m site was sold off-market through Buxton Brighton although agency representatives declined to comment.
Public documents show a caveat was placed on the address under Sharlene’s name earlier this month.

She and Hackett tied the knot in 2020, and have two children together in addition to two youngsters from Hackett’s previous marriage.
Widely hailed as one of the greatest distance swimmers of all time, Hackett has three gold Olympic medals, three silver medals and a bronze to his name.
He famously won the men’s 1500m freestyle at both the 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2004 Athens Olympics.
Also in Sydney, he participated in the 4x200m freestyle men’s heats and was awarded a gold in absentia after being withdrawn from the squad and replaced with swimmer Todd Pearson for the finals.
Hackett scooped silver medals in the 400m freestyle race in Athens 2004, after placing second behind fellow aquatics champion Ian Thorpe, and in the 4×200m freestyle relay.
Post Olympics, it was revealed Hackett had competed with a partially-collapsed lung.

Despite this, he collected a silver medal and bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Across Hackett’s career, he took home several World Championships, Pan Pacific Championships and Commonwealth Games medals, and set a total of 15 world records.
He served as the Australian swimming team’s captain from 2005 to 2008.
Among his many accolades, Hackett received an Australian Sports Medal in 2000.
The following year, he was presented with a Centenary Medal and a Medal of the Order of Australia.
After retiring from competitive swimming, Hackett became a sports commentator, television presenter and worked in finance.

He’s now chief executive officer of the Melbourne-based investment business Generation Life.
Sharlene, who runs the raw dessert business Live Love Eat Raw, has published several recipe e-books.
A decade ago, she opened the vegetarian and vegan restaurant Blendlove in Southport, Queensland, with chef and social media influencer Riki-Lee Gilbert.
In 2021, Hackett and Sharlene bought a Brighton five-bedroom house for $6.3m after selling a villa in Mermaid Beach, Queensland, earlier in that same year.
The Gold Coast home featuring a lift and rooftop terrace, located an area known as Millionaires’ Row, sold for $2.625m less than a week after being listed.
