61 Uplands Drive, Parkwood will go to auction with no reserve price.
An Aussie house is set to spark a bidding frenzy when it goes under the hammer with no reserve price.
The Queensland property, on the Gold Coast, is a deceased estate with all proceeds to be split among family.

Real estate agent Sean Coad said he had not experienced a no-reserve auction and was expecting a big crowd.
“The family said ‘there’s no mortgage on the property’ and they just want it sold,” said Mr Coad, who works at Ray White Shore Group.
“We came up with the no-reserve idea as a marketing tactic.
“We don’t need to chase the highest figure and let it sit on the market for forever and a day, they want to move on with it.
“The highest bidder on the day will buy the property.”

It’s not the first time the house has hit the headlines — in 2016 the State Government resumed the property due to proposed plans showing the second stage of the light rail crossing the property boundary.
Property records show it was then sold to the late vendor for $730,000 in 2019.
The 2526sq m property, at 61 Uplands Drive, Parkwood includes a five-bedroom two-bathroom house as well as room for around 10 vehicles with a double garage and 153sq m shed.

It’s described as a “blue chip location” with ocean and city views.
“It’s a decent sized house, it’s liveable, and presents quite nicely,” Mr Coad said.
“Parkwood itself it’s a bit of a hidden gem — you’re five minutes to Griffith University but you’re also on a huge block.”
“It would suit a range of buyers including families or investors.
“It will certainly be an interesting auction.”

PropTrack data shows the median house price in Parkwood is $1.175m, up 9 per cent over 12 months.
Auctioneer Nigel Long will call the auction on August 30 at 3pm.
