Newly-built family home becomes Australia’s most-viewed property

A newly-built home in Brisbane has become realestate.com.au’s top-viewed home for sale this week, thanks to a marketing campaign pushing its suburb as the next hub for family living.

The six-bedrooom, two bathroom house at 30 Roderick St, Wavell Heights, was custom-made for developer Libby Pyers as the ideal place for raising kids.

“I’m a mum of three,” she said. “It was really important to me that it was a functional family home. So when you come home, you have a space to dump the kids’ bags, put the dirty clothes in the laundry … and have a bedroom where my kids are all on the same level.”

30 Roderick St, Wavell Heights, was Australia’s most-viewed home for sale this week.

The home sits on an elevated 428 sqm of land: originally divided from a larger block, which was partially sold to help fund the new build.

Constructed by Blanck Building, the house was made in nine months with a focus on quality materials used in its construction.

“We wanted to make something that not just looked nice, but was actually structurally really well-built, and to see if the market had an appetite for that,” Ms Pyers said.

The home was newly-built to be the perfect family home, on an elevated block overlooking Brisbane.

The home saw a huge amount of online attention thanks to a targeted, in-house marketing campaign, that pushed the suburb’s qualities just as much as the home.

The upper and lower levels of the home are divided between living and recreation spaces, with the majority of bedrooms on the top floor.

Along with three standard bedrooms, the upper level also includes the master bedroom with hybrid oak flooring, a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite, and a spare room that can be used for sleeping or as a media space.

The ground floor features the final bedroom, a chefs kitchen with the latest in modern appliances, and an open-plan living and dining space that leads right to the backyard’s in-ground pool.

The six bedroom, two bathroom house has its upper floor entirely dedicated to private living spaces for a big family, with its lower level an open plan layout for entertaining.

The home is currently up for sale with Bright Estate Agents. Agent Tristan Rowland said he had already been contacted by interstate and international buyers, thanks to a campaign focused on marketing the suburb along with the home.

“We don’t just rely on straight singular listings,” he said. “We run very deliberate and technically run social campaigns.

“People need to know where they’re buying. They’re looking for more than just the product in the house – they’re looking for the lifestyle.”

Bright Estate Agents is managing the sales campaign for the home.

Ms Pyers said the choice to buy in Wavell Heights was a deliberate one, having grown attached to the area over the years.

“My husband and I bought our first house back in 2013 in Wavell Heights,” she said. “I’ve always been in love with the suburb.”

Mr Rowland is available to contact regarding negotiations and inspections for the home.
