Located 300m from Sassafras Village, the residence’s tranquil, leafy setting has attracted local movies and the television show Neighbours which have filmed onsite.
Reeve recalls how some of the resident birds became quite fond of a cameraperson, and would sit on their head and shoulders as they worked.
Guests love to feed the many bird species such as lorikeets and black cockatoos who visit Chudleigh Park.
The 2ha property’s garden contains many native plants and trees.
And the house’s views take in the surrounding greenery.
The waterfall is an eye-catching feature of the outdoor area.
After previously running a Geelong hotel, Reeve and John fell in love with the property at first sight when they inspected it.
“I could see what I could do with it, I could sculpt it and put a lot of love into it,” Reeve says.
“It’s quite breathtaking, to sit on the various decks we have and look at the beauty of the views and the air is also very clean.”
Since moving in, they have redesigned the gardens and planted native greenery throughout.

The Reeves’ friend and groundskeeper, Sean, owns a Cavalier King Charles spaniel dog named Rocky who enjoys sitting in the boat.
Rocky has become Chudleigh Park’s mascot and likes taking a dip in the billabong.
Reeve’s cherished memories of her home include a family wedding attended by 90 guests, Christmas dinners and birthdays.
A favourite room in the main house is the kitchen that’s fitted with stone benchtops, two St George ovens, an espresso machine and a butler’s pantry.
“Looking out to the tea gardens is wonderful, I can go out and pick the herbs I need while cooking,” she says.
A four-poster bed adds a fairytale-like touch to one of the bedrooms.

The three cottages are located 80m from the main house and can be accessed from a separate driveway to the main house.
Also outdoors, a six-car garage is equipped with a workshop, three phase power and industrial lighting.
Reeve and John are selling with plans to downsize and go travelling.
