Mortgage Companies in the Austin area

The 2024 mortgage companies list offers insights as to the state of the industry that affects so many people. The rankings track residential mortgage loan production by local offices during 2023 and groups them according to local and nonlocal deals. As expected when interest rates rise, home loan activity has declined, along with the dollars it generates. Combined production for the 20 listmakers reached $6 billion across 15,105 loans, which seems impressive until compared to previous years. In 2022, combined production for 18 listmakers was $8.2 billion across 20,861 loans. And 2021 production was $12.2 billion across 33,257 loans with 25 companies reporting. To be eligible, all deals must be handled by the local team. Austin coverage area includes Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell and Burnet counties. All loans must be originated and closed by the Austin office. Only retail home loans and refinancings are counted. Wholesale, repurchase, home equity, cash-outs, second liens and construction loans not included. ABJ gathers data by sending surveys to company representatives. Only firms that responded to requests for information are included.
